                POETICS OF RESIDUE - ANDRÉ COSTA

  " Uma quase propaganda, um corte, um recorte, plotagem, colagem, palavras fragmentadas, jogadas, cores chapadas, murmúrios e berros de comunicação visual, a sobra que se torna obra. Com seu trabalho, o artista esculpe o excesso de imagens do cotidiano.


  Feito a partir de resíduos de comunicação visual, aquilo que antes nos agredia pela sua incisão direta, agressiva e poluidora, se transforma em arte.


  A sua autointitulada Poesia Gráfica-Visual, não esta afinada com nenhuma escola estética pós-moderna, e a formação autodidata

de André, dá à sua obra uma característica particular, que só um

artista original pode  ter".

   

   Evandro Carlos Nicolau
    Arte/Educador do Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo (USP /SP/ BRASIL).

 

     Artista plástico brasileiro e autor do projeto “Arte com interface ambiental”, iniciou suas atividades artísticas em 1989, trabalhando com suportes e métodos convencionais de manufatura dos materiais.

 

   Em 1999, rompe com esse tradicionalismo para desenvolver e aperfeiçoar o que hoje é o projeto “A Poética do Resíduo”, que consiste em redesenhar e resinificar os símbolos e os signos da comunicação de massa descartados nos centros urbanos mundiais.

 

   Desta forma, o autor propõe um diálogo entre a arte e a comunicação, entre a ética e a estética, entre o local e o global criando uma viagem ao imaginário criativo da Poética do resíduo.

                                                

 

 

   "Almost an advertisement, a cut, a cutout, plotting, collage,

fragmented, tossed aside words, flat colors, murmurs and yells
of visual communication, the leftover that becomes artwork.

   With his work, the artist sculpts the excesses of everyday images.
  Made from residues of visual communication, that which previously assaulted us by its direct, agressive and polluter incision, becomes art.

   His self-titled Graphic- Visual Poetry is not in tune with any
post-modern aesthetic school, and André's autodidact shaping
gives his work a particular characteristic, that only an original

     Evandro Carlos Nicolau
    Art Educator from the ContemporaryArt Museum of the University of São Paulo (USP-SP/Brazil).
  
 
    Brazilian visual artist and author of the "Art with Environmental Interface" project, he initiated his artistic activities in 1989, with conventional molds and methods for material manufacturing.
​
    In 1999, he breaks from this traditionalism to develop and perfect
what today is called the "Poetics of Residue" project, which consists
on redesigning and resignifying the symbols and signs of mass communication disposed of in worldwide uban centres.
​
Thus, the author proposes a dialogue between art and communication, between ethics and aesthetics, between the local and the global, creating a trip towards the creative imagination of the Poetics of Residue.
